A Table Fit for a King (or Queen)

Orange and Pear is a must-click site for gift giving, especially if you're buying for a dear friend. While nosing around their shop I fell in love with a series of items that come straight out of the pages of a fairy tale.

It started with this two-sided Lady/Lord mug by Jonathan Adler ($24). If you like that, Adler also makes a King/Queen mug you'll love.

Top off your chocolate milk (or grown-up beverage) with these Jack and Lulu stripey straws ($6).

For some high-end glam invest in a John Derian piece. Derian uses decoupage and vintage illustrations he's been collecting for decades to design beautiful and elegant art for your table. I can't take my eyes off his Fontainebleau Chateau tray ($185). The Palace of Fontainebleau is one of the largest French chateaus, dating back to the 16th century.

For something daintier I recommend his Crown mini tray ($55).

This tray launched me into an online search for royalty-themed tableware. Crown aficionados will delight in everything Crown Chic. This online boutique has some delicious products (just look past the mildly strange pageant-themed sales pitch). Check out their Crown dinnerware:

Finally, bring your whole look together at the table with gold or white Dauphine Candlesticks by Rosanna, Inc.

These items are sure to put a little "Once upon a time" into your tablescapes. What other royal place settings have you found?
