Twee Cakes

I'm usually leery of buying fancy cake pans. I never want to shell out a lot of money for something that might not provide perfect results. While browsing Williams-Sonoma this weekend, I was thrilled to see their staff had been demonstrating baking that morning and I was able to see one of their specialty pans in action.

Check out the results of their Mini Tiered Cakelet Pan, which makes 6 yummy looking treats that look to be roughly the equivalent of a big slice or two of cake. I love the results! Wouldn't these be perfect for individual desserts at a wedding or bridal shower? Decorate them with a bit of frosting and some edible decor (candied flowers or sugar pearls) and they'd even make a great centerpiece stacked up on tiered cakestands!

Perhaps she was just trying to sell me something, but the sales associate said she uses this Bak-Klene ZT spray to spritz her pans before flouring. Apparently PAM can damage your non-stick pans over time. Who knew?
