Nesting Newbies has a new issue out, and it's chock full of great entertaining tips for beginners. From a "gourmet" salad bar at home, to jarred parfait desserts or a great new site for finding hand-crafted food (check out Foodzie), you'll find a lot to love.
There is also a section specifically on entertaining, with tips on creating your unique inventory of dishes and decor. A few hot tips from the issue:
* Keep decorative knickknacks, platters and other serving pieces white so they can be put to use as centerpieces—they'll always work together. * Whatever you buy, it must fit into easily accessible storage (if it gets packed away you won't see it, won't use it, and probably don't need it). * Always keep a list of what you have on hand and what you might be searching for to give you focus when you are on the hunt.
I'm personally guilty of over-collecting. I think my husband is worried I'm about 10 years away from an episode of Hoarders. But with a handy list, some great display storage, and a regular pruning back of my collection I'm confident I'll have a colorful, contemporary collection of dishware and decor that gets better every year.
