Friday Giveaway: Happy Birthday Host-It Notes!

Happy Birthday to us! To celebrate one year of posting here at Host-It Notes, this week's Friday Giveaway is all about the birthday. We're giving away two Eric Carle Birthday Party Kits. You know Carle best from his iconic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. These birthday kits feature art from this book and others. Each comes with 20 party favor bags, crowns, stickers, a banner, and a Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Elephant game. To enter to win one of the kits, all you have to do is leave a comment after the post telling me your favorite children's book. We'll run this contest all week, so leave your comment by midnight on Nov. 18 and we'll announce the randomly chosen winners the next day. Good luck!

  1. There are so many wonderful children's books that I remember growing up. There was one Disney book that came in a series and I memorized several pages of it and would read it aloud to my mom.

But, the book that I always wanted to check out from the library was Where the Wild Things Are. The illustrations in that book at still amazing to me. I can't wait until my nephew is old enough so I can share it with him.

  4. My favorite (at the moment:) is "1 2 3 to the Zoo" a counting book by Eric Carle! No kidding! It's a great one:)

This is currently my daughters' [M (28mo)& Em's(6.5mo)] favorite book (and by favorite, I mean I read it 3+ times per day, before naps and bedtimes:) I had no idea there was an E.C. party kit. Awesome!

  8. My favorite as a child was "The Poky Little Puppy". I think my mom read that one to me at least 1000 times! My favorite to read to my daughter is "I Love You Through and Through" for obvious reasons, but it actually taught her all of her body parts when she was a baby!

  9. Growing up my favorite children's book is The House that Had Enough by P.E. King. I think it was a golden book. It was a cute little story about a girl who did not take care of her things and everything, including her house, ran away. The only thing that stayed with her was her pillow. Strangely, you would think that as an adult, that book would have made me a more organized person. Not so! Any day now I'm sure everything in my messy closet is going to walk out while I am at work! It's a great book though, I still have a copy. :-)
