Super Bowl Chili Party

On February 6th the Packers and the Steelers will go head to head in the Super Bowl! Wouldn't you rather be watching the game—or at least the commercials—instead of stuck in the kitchen making party snacks? This year, put together a game day chili bar, with a big pot of chili and a wide variety of toppings to choose from. You can do the prep work in the morning, leaving you with a finished pot of chili goodness ready to serve by game time.

Keep game time spirits high by laying out your food fixings in a tournament bracket. We put our chili in the center, with twelve tasty toppings facing off around it.

A few suggested toppings for stocking your chili buffet:

Avocado Bacon (cooked and chopped) Cheese Cilantro Cornbread mini-muffins Fritos Lime wedges Olives Onion Oyster crackers Radishes Scallions Sour Cream Tortillas or tortilla chips

Don't forget to include a selection of hot sauces for those who like it spicy!

Time-saving tip: You can even make the chili the night before. Store in the refrigerator and reheat on the stove before guests arrive. As for the toppings—slice, shred, clean and prep anything you can the night before. That way when it comes time to serve you'll only have one or two items to worry about, such as the avocado.

Happy hosting!

  1. Ah, now I see!

Now, you understand I am required by marriage to pull for the Steelers.... I hope this won't cause problems in thenfuture.

  2. As you know, I'm required by marriage to root for the Packers. Let's hope this won't come to fisticuffs ;) We can all root for junk food, right?
