Brats, Beers and Baseball!

My husband is a hard-core baseball fan from Wisconsin. So when his home team, the Brewers, went up against my favorite team, the Mets, I thought I'd make him a special dinner to show my support...and, you know, cushion the blow if my team won.

I cooked us up a pair of tasty bratwursts, each served on a french roll with peppers and onions. Brats are practically the state food of Wisconsin.

As the song goes, I just had to buy him some peanuts and Cracker Jack. I also tucked two 24oz cans of Miller High Life in the back—because what's baseball without the beer? He drank his in a glass from one of his favorite WI pubs. I prefer mine from the can, because I'm classy like that.

I packed it all up in my bright red Milwaukee tool box—storage for a good ol' Milwaukee Sawzall.

The Mets did me proud, winning 2 to 1. Go Mets! Maybe next game I'll serve up a Nathan's hotdog with my guilty pleasure, Sabrett onion sauce, in their honor.
