Ferris Wheel Cupcake Display

Just spotted via Pizzazzerie: Is this not the cutest? I know anything carnival is adorable, but an unusual cupcake-holding ferris wheel? Now that's fantastic! You can find it at Horchow ($75) or Neiman Marcus.

Thrift Store Score

I was browsing my local Anthropologie on Friday when something looked familiar. This super cute snail plate caught my eye and I thought to myself, "Haven't I seen that before?" Turns out, yes! A few weeks ago I nabbed this exact same plate from my local Goodwill for about $2.00. Considering it's in great condition, and the plate retails for $24 at Anthro, I'd say I got a steal! Mine's the photo on the right.

We can't all scoop up a find like that, but we can ogle the pretty plates over at Anthropologie. I like the French vibe they have going in a lot of their dinnerware right now. Check it out! www.anthropologie.com

Portrait Session With Nissa Nicole

I don't normally splash photos of myself all over the interweebs, but I love these so much I just had to share. I had such a great, relaxed experience at this portrait session with photographer Nissa Nicole. Anyone who has seen me running around the city knows I don't normally look this good (a shout-out to Bobbi Brown makeup!). Nissa has a new blog—check out her work at http://nissanicolephoto.com/.

Super Chic Foldable Chairs and a Must-Read

Folding chairs are the BEST when it comes to entertaining. I don't live in a mansion (far from it...). My wee little two bedroom apartment can't fit any extra seating for dining on a daily basis, however my storage closet can accommodate some folding chairs. Do folding chairs get more gorgous than the Fifi, by Society Social? Perhaps not. (Fifi, Society Social, $189) Also off the hook? Their foxy bar carts.

Maybe you're not ready to splurge on a colorful chair (or 6), but you must take the time to check out Society Social's new magalog. Part product catalog, mostly awesome online magazine—either way its images are poppin' and the entertaining style is gorgeous. Click it.

Strawberry Dessert Table

Huzzah, my latest shoot for the MyWedding.com blog, Delightfully Engaged, is live! This time it's a dessert table with loads of strawberries. I sewed the runner and other fabrics myself, and found the plant stand and wine rack at the Alameda Flea Market. Head over to Delightfully Engaged for an eyeful of tasty goodness!

Green Art

I'm hooked on succulents. Their shapes are so unique, they come in a surprisingly wide range of hues, and the Californian in me loves that they're drought friendly. Naturally, I'm completely enamored with this tutorial from Better Homes and Gardens on how to make your own framed succulent art. I especially love how easy it looks to make! I'd love to hang this on the wall in my house—but wouldn't this be a lovely backdrop for a tablescape at a party? Complement it with succulent arrangements on the table and—BAM!! You've got style.

Oh My, Oliver Bonas!

I found the Oliver Bonas shop when I was trying to track down this pop-up paper cupcake stand. Cute, no? I presume it disassembles and ships flat, which means I could mail it to myself if I'm putting together a party on location. I may order it just to find out!

Even better, it turns out the store has loads of other covetable items. Slate coasters, gorgeous butterfly jugs or a floral number, and vintage inspired plates? This is my kind of shop.

I never thought I needed a butter dish, but this rabbit dish convinces me I do.

You'll find all of this (and more) at www.oliverbonas.com. Good times!

Friday Giveaway Winner: Cupcakes Hit The Deck!

Congratulations to our randomly chosen giveaway winner, Brandie!! You get a copy of The Cupcake Deck by Elinor Kilvans. Have fun baking delicious cupcakes—and let us know what your favorite recipe is! Thanks to everyone who entered—we'll have another giveaway again soon!

Custom Bakery Boxes

I've had a lot of desserts to share lately, whether they're leftovers from photo shoots or baked at home. The surplus is great, but I've had no way to share them other than slapping sweets in a plastic bag. To class up my offerings a bit I decided to purchase bakery boxes in a range of sizes to fit everything from cookies to cakes.

I noticed the smallest size fits handily on my Silhouette cutting mat. If you have a machine of your own (Cricut works too), run a blank bakery box through to cut a custom phrase in a fun font! Once you're done, cut a square of cellophane and adhere it to the underside of the box lid. I attached mine with a glue stick.

Want an alternative to a fun phrase? Personalize the box top with the monogram of your recipient. Don't have a die-cutting machine? Trace letters onto your box top and cut them away with an precision knife.

Cake Stand Love: Into the Woods

This faux bois tree trunk cake stand is...a little over the top. But I can absolutely envision it in the right setting. Put a simple, elegant, creamy cake on top and I think this'd be great. Granted, it's also going to cost you 175 bones for even the smallest size, but that's what gets you in the pages of Martha Stewart Living I suppose! Find it at www.bellochio.com.
